NFSJ presented Dr. D. B. Kattel as the featured scientist in ‘Meet the Scientist Episode-3’

Nepal Forum of Science Journalists (NFSJ) successfully organized the third episode of ‘Meet the Scientist‘, focusing on Mountain Climate and Science Journalism in Nepal. The event featured Dr. D.B Kattel as the esteemed speaker, who shed light on crucial aspects of this topic. Dr. Kattel emphasized the significant challenges faced by high mountain regions and their inhabitants due to global warming. ”The Tibetan Plateau system as a key driver of monsoon patterns in the South Asian region, illustrating its impact on the global climate system. Dr. Kattel stressed the need for further research in this field and shared a study that revealed systematic differences in glaciers in the southern part of the region. Additionally, he underscored the importance of Science Communication in a developing country like Nepal to bridge the gap between scientists and society.

Chhatra Karki, the Founding President of NFSJ and Program Director, expressed gratitude to Dr. Kattel for his insightful presentation on Mountain Climate and its impact on daily life. The program received active participation from esteemed individuals within the NFSJ leadership. President Rajan Pokhrel, NFSJ Advisor Rajendra Khanal, Vice President Madhusudhan Guragain, and Secretary Gobinda Pokharel were all actively involved in the event.
