Call for Applications: Science Journalism Mentorship Program for Beginners 2024
The Nepal Forum of Science Journalists (NFSJ), established in 2014 to bolster science journalism in Nepal, is excited to announce the launch of its Science Journalism Mentorship Program for Beginners. This program, running from July 15 to October 14, will be guided by international science journalists and includes a 10-hour online workshop along with hands-on science writing activities throughout the three-month period.

- Shaping Ideas and Identifying the Science in Stories
- Conducting Challenging Interviews
- Fact Checking in science stories
- Sourcing News Stories
- Crafting a Compelling Pitch
- Multimedia Storytelling Skills
- Utilizing AI Tools for Reporting
- Ethical Considerations in Science Journalism
This comprehensive training is free of charge and will be conducted entirely online. Participation is limited, and selected candidates must commit to the full duration of the course.
Eligibility:
Early-career journalists and students from SAARC countries with an interest in science journalism are encouraged to apply. The certificate will be awarded upon completion of the training.
