Call for Application: Climate Reporting Workshop for Nepali Journalists.
Climate Reporting in the Hindu Kush Himalayan region has conventionally focused on disasters and their impacts on infrastructure and the lives of people. Despite the fact that media can play an instrumental role by mobilizing journalists at the community level, there is a lack of such realization as reflected in the current state of reporting which is predominantly based on secondary data. Hence, robust community-level reporting and nuanced engagement of journalists with climate science is hugely missing.
In light of the above, Nepal Forum of Science Journalists (NFSJ) in collaboration with United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is organizing two days Climate Reporting Workshop for Nepali Journalists.
In the workshop of 2 days in Dhulikhel the journalist participants will be engaged in an interactive and intellectually stimulating environment and will beencouraged to share their knowledge, accomplishments and challenges pertaining to climate journalism. Similarly, selected participants will produce at least one climate story on various impacts of climate change on the livelihood, agriculture, indigenous knowledge, culture and economy of the people.
